Boat Mate/ Dive Ambassador/ Instructor
All three of these positions are critical to the enjoyment and success of our charters. And as such, we stress the ability to create a welcoming and safe environment for our divers.
Our dive ambassadors accompany divers on the dive itself while pulling a float ball and pointing out interesting marine life when possible. All positions are expected to help carry gear and tanks and to assist divers as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Scuba Diving Instructors must possess a SDI instructor rating (crossover to SDI is available)
- Possess certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, and O2 provider
- Consistently demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work in a team and adapt to changing conditions
- Possess knowledge of our local dive sites and marine life
- Have boating and navigation skills
Responsibilities:
- Scuba Diving Instructors must possess an SDI instructor rating or be willing to crossover to SDI
- Dive Ambassadors' duties are performed to Dive Master and Jupiter Dive Center standards
- Boat Mate duties performed to Jupiter Dive Center standards
- Communicate a clear and concise dive briefing
- Prepare charters for daily trips in a timely manner to keep the charters on schedule
- Organize deck/diver seating for dives and position dive tanks in the correct locations
- Handle boat lines for departure and arrival
- Carry customer gear and rental gear. Lift and carry tanks to and from boat (up to 60 tanks per day)
- Stock and clean boat
- Additional responsibilities as directed
