San Salvador Island, Bahamas, is renowned as one of the premier scuba diving destinations in the world. Situated just outside the Caribbean in the Atlantic Ocean, the island is surrounded by deep waters, offering frequent encounters with pelagic species such as sharks, groupers, and dolphins.

Scuba Diving Resort & Fishing Destination
San Salvador Island, located just 360 miles southeast of Miami, is one of the world’s foremost destinations for both scuba diving and fishing. The island, which measures just twelve miles long by five miles wide, is home to approximately 950 residents and is one of the southeasternmost islands in the Bahamas. Riding Rock Resort & Marina is situated on a pinnacle and is surrounded by warm breezes and vibrant, clear waters.
San Salvador offers diving experiences unlike any other in the Bahamas. As the island lies just outside the Caribbean in the Atlantic Ocean, it is surrounded by deep water, making it common to encounter pelagic species, including scalloped hammerhead sharks. Visibility often exceeds 150 feet, and the wall dives here are truly spectacular.
Known as Columbus Isle, San Salvador is recognized for having some of the best diving in the Bahamas. Divers can expect frequent encounters with marine life such as turtles, sharks, and other pelagic species at varying depths.
Dive Sites & Diving Information
Our dive sites are conveniently located on the lee side of San Salvador Island. Boat rides to the sites are brief, with minimal likelihood of rough seas. Most dive sites are along walls, with the reef beginning at a depth of approximately 40 feet. Whether you're an experienced diver or a novice, you'll have the opportunity to encounter an array of marine life, including turtles, sharks, and pelagic species.

San Salvador is consistently ranked as one of the top five wall-diving destinations globally. For shark enthusiasts, the island is home to several species, with Scalloped Hammerhead sharks being a particular favorite among our divers.
Diving Schedule
Our dive itinerary typically includes two morning dives and one afternoon dive on full dive days, with a single-tank dive on the final dive day. No dives are scheduled on the day of arrival or departure.
Inclusive Resort Packages include accommodations, meals, San Salvador airport transfers to/from the resort, and all taxes.
Exclusions: Personal purchases, alcoholic beverages, sodas, bottled water, gratuities, and transportation to/from San Salvador Island are not included.
Additional Boat Dives: If desired, additional boat dives may be arranged for $50 per dive, provided a minimum of six divers is met. These additional dives can be scheduled while on the island.
The dive boats depart from the marina at approximately 9:00 am for the first of the two morning dives. Due to the close proximity of the dive sites, the boats return to the marina between dives for a surface interval, offering divers the chance to relax. If preferred, the boats can remain at sea for the surface interval. Afternoon dives typically depart around 2:30 pm for a one-tank dive.
