Level Up this Summer: Become a Master Scuba Diver!
Looking for something to do this summer? Jupiter Dive Center has the answer—earn your Master Scuba Diver ranking! From the moment you took your first breath underwater, you’ve known scuba diving was the sport for you.
Since then, your love of the ocean has only increased. Maybe you’ve already earned a couple of specialty certifications, or taken your Rescue Diver Course. Now you’re looking to level up again- which makes you the perfect candidate to become a Master Scuba Diver!
What makes a Master Scuba Diver?
The answer is you! The Master Scuba Diver Program recognizes your deep commitment to diving excellence, and by the end of the program, you’ll have broadened your diving knowledge, improved your skills, sharpened your safety awareness, and have the dive experience to adapt to changing environmental conditions.
You can achieve your Master Scuba Diver rating by earning your Advanced Open Water certification, and then completing the Rescue Diver course, five specialties courses, and logging a minimum of 50 dives. And if you’re toying with the idea of becoming a diving professional, earning Master Scuba Diver recognition is a great way to prepare to become a professional divemaster or instructor!
Advanced Adventure Diving
If you haven’t already extended your underwater skills with an advanced diving certification, this is the place to start. Simply stated, earning an advanced scuba certification allows you to explore more ocean while equipping you with the knowledge and skills to do it safely. The accepted recreational diving depth limit is 120 feet and to be able to explore the range between 60-120 feet requires divers to be advanced open water certified.
Deep diving and navigational skills are mandatory parts of the course. You’ll choose the remaining three components with your instructor.
Rescue
Nothing improves your confidence more than knowing what to do in an emergency - except perhaps knowing how to stop one before it begins. That’s where a rescue class comes in.
Divers who have completed a rescue course often claim it’s the most challenging scuba class they’ve ever taken - and the most fun. This class requires an advanced certification and at least 15 dives under your belt.
Rescue divers also must have first aid and O2 certifications. Your buddies will thank you. This is one of the required classes on your journey to Master Scuba Diver.

Nitrox
The nitrox – enriched air certification is hands down the most popular specialty certification available. No matter what your certification level, diving with enriched air will safely extend your no-decompression time and reduce your surface interval. Taking the course couldn’t be easier! It’s online, no dives are required, and once you finish the online academics, you’ll work with an instructor to demonstrate your ability to analyze tanks and confirm that you understand depth limitations. That’s it! You can be diving with enriched air your very next dive.
Drift Diver
Maybe you learned to dive in an area where boats hooked to mooring balls, but in Jupiter, the dive sites are deeper and all of the charters are drift dives. So, what does that mean? The current does most of the work as it propels you across the reef. It also means you need to learn how to properly deploy a surface marker buoy, maintain contact with your buddy, and how to safely get on and off the boat an important skill when divers are giant striding one right after another.
Night Diver
Why dive at night? First, it’s a bit mysterious. Second, it offers you a peek at an environment you thought you knew well, only to find it completely transformed. Animal behaviors change in the dark. Some fishes disappear, others come out to play. Lobsters and octopuses prowl for prey. Larger marine animals cruise the waters. Darkness adds challenges, requires different dive etiquette, and demands additional equipment.
In this course, you’ll learn exactly what you need, proper light discipline, the importance of buddy briefings and communication, and proper interaction with nocturnal marine animals.
And if you think everything will be drab and gray, remember if you rely on natural light during a day dive, light absorption reduces the visible color spectrum the deeper you go. At night, the light waves only have to travel the distance between your light source and the item it’s illuminating. Be prepared to be wowed!
Deep Diver
If you’ve ever dropped a piece of your equipment or wanted to explore a wreck or a wall dive, you’ll instantly recognize the value of having a Deep Diver certification. As you go deeper, the dives get darker and the pressure increases. Knowing how to safely navigate beyond recreational depths is critical.
Beyond the Basics: Intro to Tech Course
Maybe you want an even deeper challenge. You want to go deeper, stay longer, learn more, more about dive planning methods, skills, proper gear configurations.
This introductory tech diving course expands and builds on your recreational dive training.
During the course, you’ll learn how to improve your situational awareness by formulating appropriate dive plans, improving buoyancy control, learning more about
gas management, practicing propulsions techniques, and making the most of the equipment you already have. You’ll also learn more about advanced technical diving and equipment.
